Here are some facts about baby boomers and podcasts that I think you’ll find fascinating. Here’s an excerpt taken from Marilynn Mobley’s blog .
“Boomers once again defy conventional wisdom by downloading podcasts”
“If you think podcasting is for only the young turks with ear buds, think again. According to a comScore study, sponsored by Ad Infuse, consumers 35-54 make up about half of the audience that embraces podcasts.”
comScore research indicates that the more education and money a consumer has, the most likely s/he is to tune into podcasts. In fact, "individuals in households making at least $100,000 were 28 percent more likely than average to download podcasts, while college graduates were 25 percent more likely.
(Are you listening, car manufacturers???? Quit just screaming at us on TV and get inside our heads through our ear buds!)”

Don’t it make you wonder who “conventional wisdom” is? They have been misinterpreting marketing to baby boomers for several years now – ever since we started hitting 40! Somehow they got the impression that we suddenly turned into old fogies just because of some birthday!
Anyway, if you’re not listening to podcasts, why not check some out, starting with BoomerYak and others of the wide variety on Yaktivate. You can listen right on your computer or download them to an iPod or other MP3 player. It’s an easy way to compile your own personalized “university” and entertainment center.
I listen to my iPod (a cute little red one!) when I’m walking on the beach and plug it into the sound system in my car when I have a long drive.
